Hi, I'm Sam. I started out as an actor myself—I began working professionally in high school and went on to earn my BFA in Drama from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I was lucky enough to study under theater legend Gerald Freedman and work with incredible artists like Tony Award-winning director Joe Mantello, Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally, and acclaimed TV director David Petrarca.
That training taught me a deep respect for how vulnerable and courageous this work really is.
Over the past decade, I've shifted into writing and directing. I've made three independent features, working with actors like Fairuza Balk, Alanna Ubach, and Charles Baker on emotionally demanding, character-driven material.
I've learned that great acting doesn't happen when you're trying to get it "right." It happens when you feel safe enough to play, brave enough to take risks, and free enough to explore without worrying about judgment. That's the kind of environment I'm committed to creating for you.
